Bright spring flowers give way to edible fruits

  • - An early bloomer that welcomes in springtime
  • - Long-lasting pink flowers right through summer
  • - Quince-like, edible fruit emerges

Early, showy spring flowers
When these exuberant soft-apricot pink flowers appear, you’ll know spring has arrived. One of the first flowers to bloom, in February or March, they grow abundantly in large double clusters, bringing bright color to your garden.

Delicious, greenish yellow fruits
These long-lasting flowers bloom right through summer and once they go, they leave a little treat behind, as a small and fragrant fruit emerges. It is bitter when eaten raw but comes to life in jams, preserves, and jellies. Very similar to the quince fruit.

Attracts birds
The Cameo Japanese Flowering Quince not only brings fragrance and style to the garden, its fruit attracts friendly birds also.

Full sun produces a sturdy shrub
It’s extremely hardy and grows easily. Under full sun a dense shrub of tangled, thorny branches emerges, resistant to drought. This compact shrub can reach a mature height of 3-4 ft. with a width of 5 ft.

A versatile addition to garden and home
Because of its compact nature, it’s ideal for use in borders or mixed-shrub hedges, especially when its abundant flowers bloom. The dense, tangled branches also make it perfect for screening or privacy barriers, while they can also be cut and brought indoors to bloom.

The Cameo Japanese Flowering Quince is certainly an all-rounder – stunning flowers, edible fruits, and versatile branches!

Received the my flowering quince

Received the my flowering quince right on time, as promised. its been planted and has survived one spring severe storm the very next night after planting. I can't wait to see it bloom and grow. Thank you for your service!

Once again you delivered a great plant

Right after delivery and planting, the leaves and buds burst forth. A happy plant and a happy customer.

Disappointing look

It arrive alive and on time, the package was secure but the plant looks way different then website picture. Very small! There are 4 skimpy, crooked branches, where 2 are almost horizontal and the other 2 are transverse in one direction. I didn’t know what to think of it. There was a note to email GEN if there are any problems .. however, how could they ship all crooked plant like this in the first place? I was expecting plant that’s upright. Can’ even train it/tie branches in any ways because the branches are very short. I am just really disappointed. Waist of money. I order plants online and almost always very happy with the purchases. Sad.

Cameo Japanese flowering quince

The five Cameo Japanese flowering quince plants I ordered arrived as 1gal potted plants packed marvelously all together in one box. They were only suffering a little wilt from being in the hot FedEx truck and perked right up with watering. They were heavily pruned for their trip, but I hope to enjoy a good bloom next Spring.

Great specimen

Loved the color of the "Cameo" quince when I saw it online and as I couldn't get it locally, I ordered here. Very happy with the tree that came. It was larger than expected for mail-order, and nicely trimmed up. Seems to have settled in nicely in our garden.

Cameo Japanese Quince

The plant arrived within 10 days of my order in VA, which was reasonable considering the distance. It looked a bit anemic, perhaps from the long trip enclosed in a nice sturdy box. But a day outside in the Spring weather here, with a shower or two seems to have revived it. I have planted it and so far, so good!
