This heirloom peony is a must for your cut flower garden! Sarah Bernhardt Double Peony blooms late spring in a deep pink that fades to a softer pink towards the petal's edges, bringing timeless color and a delightful fragrance to your garden for decades to come.
Peonies need full sun & neutral soil. This variety has beautiful lush foliage and strong stems, making it an excellent cut flower that will have a week vase life when cut in full bud.
Peonies are very long lived and might need to be divided every 10 years. As with all peonies, this one is deer resistant.
Peonies rarely bloom their first year, like most long-lived perennials it can take three years for them to bloom prolifically, but it's worth the wait!
When planting peonies, make sure the eyes (the point where new growth emerges) are no more than two inches deep. Peonies need plenty of sun- 6 or more hours a day to bloom. If they are planted in a shady site, they will not flower.

All of our plants are container grown and shipped with the soil and roots fully intact. We DO NOT ship your plants bare-root. Being shipped as a containered plant greatly reduces the risk of the plant not surviving the transit to your home.

Yes. If, in the rare case your plants are damaged upon arrival, just contact us within 7 days and a full refund or exchange will be issued for those plants.

If I order now, can I delay shipping for sometime in the future?
Sure. After placing your order, just send us an email with your order number and the date you would like your order delivered.
We promise to only send you healthy, well rooted plants. If, in the rare case your plants are damaged upon arrival, or you are not completely satisfied, contact us at hello@thegreenhousepnw.com within 30 days of receiving your order, and we’ll take care of it.
If your plant(s) were damaged on arrival, we will send out replacements to you immediately at no extra charge to you.
If that plant is no longer in stock, or you prefer to not receive a replacement, we will issue full refund for any damaged plants.
In some cases, we may simply request a photo of the damaged plant to verify condition of plant before we process replacement or refund.

I bought 3 plants - when they arrived, due to mishandling of my delivery man (did NOT put it the right side up despite labeling on the box), I was actually a little worried about one of them not making it because the larger stalks were all broken. Still, I put it in the ground and to my delight, it still grew so much, large and lush, and made several beautiful blooms within months! They look so wonderful.
