DESCRIPTION
Alertie is a charming early-blooming peony valued for its soft pastel coloring and compact growth habit. The flowers are semi-double to double in form, opening with delicate blush-pink outer petals that gradually fade to near white as they mature. Lightly ruffled and centered with creamy stamens, the blooms have a subtle, sweet fragrance and a graceful, old-fashioned appeal.
This variety reaches 24 to 28 inches tall, forming a neat, bushy clump that holds up well in borders and cutting gardens. Its compact size makes it especially suitable for smaller spaces or the front of perennial beds. Like most peonies, Alertie is long-lived, deer-resistant, and thrives in full sun with well-drained soil.

FALL PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Dig a hole about 12" wide and 12" deep.
2. Create a mound of soil in the center of the hole.
3. Position the root so that the eyes (buds) face upward and are 1–2 inches below the soil surface (no deeper!).
4. Backfill gently, firming soil around the root.
5. Water thoroughly.
