DESCRIPTION
Shirley Temple is a graceful, mid-season peony named after the beloved child actress, known for its soft color transitions and abundant, full blooms. The large, double flowers open as blush pink and gradually fade to creamy white as they mature, often displaying both tones on the plant at once. The rounded, ruffled petals create a delicate, rose-like form, and the blooms carry a mild, sweet fragrance.
This variety reaches 30 to 36 inches tall and forms a strong, upright clump with healthy, deep green foliage that remains attractive well into summer. The blooms are held on sturdy stems, but light staking may be helpful during peak flowering or after heavy rain. FALL PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Dig a hole about 12" wide and 12" deep.
2. Create a mound of soil in the center of the hole.
3. Position the root so that the eyes (buds) face upward and are 1–2 inches below the soil surface (no deeper!).
4. Backfill gently, firming soil around the root.
5. Water thoroughly.
