DESCRIPTION
Hallelujah is a striking French hybrid lilac known for its deep, rich coloring and abundant flower production. In mid-spring, it produces upright clusters of fully double florets in a dramatic burgundy-purple hue—one of the darkest among the common lilac group. The blooms are fragrant and long-lasting, making them excellent for cutting and bringing indoors.
This vigorous, deciduous shrub grows 8 to 12 feet tall and 6 to 10 feet wide, developing a dense, upright form over time. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, and like most Syringa vulgaris cultivars, it benefits from pruning just after bloom to encourage strong flowering the following year. Cold-hardy and dependable, Hallelujah brings vivid color and structure to borders, hedges, or specimen plantings.
