DESCRIPTION

Ludwig Spaeth is a classic French lilac cultivar known for its richly colored, deep reddish-purple blooms and strong, sweet fragrance. Blooming in late spring, it produces long, narrow panicles packed with single florets that open from dark buds, making it one of the most vibrantly colored lilacs available. Its bloom time extends the lilac season and provides a stunning contrast to paler varieties in the landscape.

This upright, multi-stemmed shrub grows 8 to 10 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, making it an excellent choice for hedging, screening, or as a bold focal point. Lilacs came beautifully packaged. Have attempted lilacs before and they didn’t survive. These appear to be a lovely variety and we planted them carefully with an abundance of TLC, and so far they’re doing well!

I bought a lilac...approximately 4" pot size. I planted it immediately and have been watering a bit extra during this terrible hot spell. It looks great but has yet to grow bigger. Patience is the key.
