    DESCRIPTION

Primrose is a unique and elegant French lilac cultivar prized for its rare, creamy yellow flower color—a striking departure from traditional purple and lavender lilacs. Blooming in mid to late spring, it produces large, conical panicles of soft primrose-yellow blossoms that emit a classic lilac fragrance: sweet, rich, and deeply nostalgic.

This upright, multi-stemmed deciduous shrub reaches 8 to 10 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, making it an excellent choice for a flowering hedge, mixed border, or stand-alone focal point. Like other Syringa vulgaris types, it performs best in full sun with well-drained soil and benefits from light pruning after flowering to maintain shape and encourage future blooms.

    Key Features:

    • Rare, pale yellow flowers with classic lilac fragrance

    • Blooms in mid to late spring

    • Upright habit, 8–10 ft. tall and 6–8 ft. wide

    • Attracts pollinators and offers excellent cut flowers

    • Thrives in full sun and well-drained soil

    • Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7

    • Ideal for specimen planting, borders, and hedging

Primrose Lilac adds an unexpected and elegant color twist to traditional lilac collections, combining unique beauty with time-tested fragrance and garden performance.
