DESCRIPTION
Wonderblue is a compact French hybrid lilac prized for its striking blue-lavender blooms and manageable size. Blooming in mid- to late spring, it produces dense panicles of single flowers in a soft sky-blue hue with subtle lavender undertones. The color is especially vivid in cool spring weather, and the classic lilac fragrance adds to its garden appeal.
Smaller than most common lilacs, Wonderblue typically grows 5 to 6 feet tall and 4 to 5 feet wide, making it an excellent choice for smaller gardens, foundation plantings, or mixed borders. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil and benefits from light pruning immediately after flowering. Like other Syringa vulgaris cultivars, it is cold-hardy and long-lived once established.
