  • Flame Grass (Miscanthus sinensis 'Purpurascens') is grown for its changing foliage that emerges green in spring and dances in hues of reds and maroons into summer. Large creamy tassels sprout above the plant late summer as the leaves turn more vibrant shades of orange and red. Miscanthus 'Purpurascens' attracts birds and butterflies and will do wonderfully wherever it's planted with at least partial sunlight. Drought tolerant and cold hardy, this ornamental grass needs little attention after establishment.

  • Shipping Methods

Orders will be shipped via FedEx Home Delivery.

Orders are generally in route for 2-5 business days (depending on where you live).

We are sticklers about packaging and shipping your order in a way that guarantees healthy plants upon arrival. If plants are damaged on arrival, just let us know and we'll send you new ones or offer a full refund.

All of our plants are container grown and shipped with the soil and roots fully intact. We DO NOT ship your plants bare-root. Being shipped as a containered plant greatly reduces the risk of the plant not surviving the transit to your home.

Hope they survive

Arrived too late for me to plant them. Hope they will survive in their pots until I can get them in the ground in about 4-6 weeks. They look great for now.

Flame grass

My plants arrived very well packaged and in excellent condition. I planted them the next day and they are doing wonderfully. It’s only been 3 weeks but I see growth! Thank you for helping this beginner gardener succeed

Flame Grass

It arrived in decent condition but it is very small. I hope it sustains the winter months in Iowa. If it does not, what is my recourse?
