Indian Hawthorne 'Ballerina'

Hens and Chicks 'Carmen,' Sempervivum 'Carmen' forms an eye-popping mat of burgundy-tipped rosettes. The green center of each rosette is tightly packed as it opens and gives way to a star-like display. Alpine gardens, rock gardens and just about any other place most other plants won't grow will likely suit Hens and Chicks 'Carmen' just fine. White summer blooms will attract butterflies but be prepared to pluck out the faded rosettes after flowering. That is just about all the maintenance this hardy species will require.
