    DESCRIPTION

Native Monardas tend to be a bit rangy in their growth habit, but Bee Balm 'Balmy Purple' (Monarda didyma Balmy Purple) changes all that with a compact, tidy growth habit. The absolutely magnificent purple flowers are carried in large, showy heads that will attract birds, butterflies - and you. Those flowers look good enough to eat, and they are, in fact, edible, so go ahead! Whereas old-style Bee Balms were prone to mildew, that problem has been overcome, so you'll enjoy low-maintenance gardening and magnificent blooms.

One is beautiful but the other didn’t make it!

One of our bee balm is absolutely beautiful and healthy; one didn’t as good when we got it (all the other plants in shipment were fine)! It has since died. The one hasn’t flowered yet but looks good!

    Plants in bad condition

The Bee Balm plants made a slow journey from Oregon to Indiana. Travel time was eleven days. The leaves and stems had rotted. I planted anyway and will see what happens. If I had realized the shipment would take that long to arrive I would not have ordered. In the future, if I buy plants online, I will order from a seller located closer.

    Hello George,
I just sent you an email! I am so sorry for their delay in shipping and bad shape due to that. Please reach out anytime at hello@thegreenhousepnw.com with concerns or questions.
