DESCRIPTION
Blue Girl Holly, Ilex meserveae 'Blue Girl' is praised for her unmistakable dark, glossy leaves and abundant red berry clusters. This broadleaf evergreen softens and hides unsightly structures such as utility boxes, and corners of buildings. Try planting in a mixed border with deciduous shrubs for diversity and consistent year round color. When planted in groups, the fall and winter, bright red berries that adorn Ilex 'Blue Girl' make this species a perfect specimen plant for the off season. It is important to note, that she will not produce berries without her 'man.' One, Ilex 'Blue Boy' for every 1- 3 girls is enough to do the job!
