    DESCRIPTION

    • Named for Penny McHenry, founder of the American Hydrangea Society
    • Great for those who live in colder climates
    • Grows lush, mophead flowers

Makes a vibrant statement for your landscaping

Though hydrangeas have historically been a warm-weather climate’s darling, the Penny Mac variety is comfortable in cooler areas. They create a prominent focal point for your landscaping design, with their deep green leaves and colorful blooms, which can range in color from blue to lilac-pink depending on the soil. You’ll find they’re blue in highly acidic soils, and pink in more alkaline areas.

Great for those with shady yards

Penny Mac Hydrangeas do well in only partial sun but can tolerate full sun if they’re kept well-watered. They can also be grown in larger containers for those who lack yard space but want to add beauty to their patio or terrace. They like well-drained soils.

    Beautiful flowers in varying shades

Customize the color of the flowers by adding lime to the soil for pinker blooms, or aluminum sulfate for a vibrant blue shade. Flowers emerge from both new and old growth, and these versatile plants will container to beautify your yard until after the first frost. They grow to an impressive 4-6 feet in height, making them a prominent addition to your garden or landscaping design.
