One might think it impossible to improve on Lavender, but Lavender 'Lavance Purple' (Lavandula angustifolia Lavance) is lavender with a remarkable difference. Instead of having the usual lavender-colored blooms, this plant has intense, deep purple flowers that really stand out against the silver-green foliage. Its tidy, compact growth habit makes it ideal for pots, as edging for beds, or for those with smaller gardens. I also bought these lavenders and I LOVE them. They are frost hardy blooms every year … they are wonderful to smell.
