If you're looking for a showy, low-growing plant with magnificent blooms, Luisia 'Little Plum' (Lewisia cotyledon 'Little Plum') is the answer to your prayers. This tough little evergreen perennial tolerates everything except damp conditions and makes the perfect plant for rock gardens or retaining walls. The fabulous candy-pink blooms are borne in profusion above rosettes of succulent foliage, and the plants will often flower all the way from late spring through autumn. Plant them with pride; these showgirls of the plant world are native to the Western US.
