Beauty of Moscow (also known by its original Russian name Krasavitsa Moskvy) is a highly regarded French hybrid lilac celebrated for its exquisite double blooms and romantic coloring. The large, dense panicles emerge as blush pink buds that open into double white flowers with a soft pink flush, giving the blooms a pearlescent, shimmering effect. Blooming in mid to late spring, they emit a rich, classic lilac fragrance that fills the garden.
This upright, multi-stemmed deciduous shrub reaches 8 to 12 feet tall and 6 to 10 feet wide, making it ideal as a flowering hedge, specimen, or backdrop in larger garden spaces. It performs best in full sun with well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil, and benefits from light pruning after blooming to maintain shape and encourage vigorous flowering the next season.
