DESCRIPTION
North Star® Boxwood is a cold-hardy, dense evergreen shrub selected for its naturally rounded shape and excellent year-round structure. With small, glossy dark green leaves that maintain their color even through harsh winters, it offers reliable form and foliage in formal gardens, foundation plantings, and low hedges. Its compact size and tidy habit make it ideal for use in symmetrical designs, borders, or as a low-maintenance alternative to more labor-intensive clipped hedges.
Reaching about 2.5 to 3 feet tall and wide, North Star® grows slowly and responds well to light pruning, though it rarely requires much shaping. It thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers well-drained soil. As with most boxwoods, proper spacing and airflow help prevent disease, and a layer of mulch can help protect shallow roots in extreme cold.
