A graceful fountain of foliage and bottle-brush-like cat tails tinged with pink adorn Cassian Dwarf Fountain Grass (Pennisetum alopecuroides Cassian). This garden beauty is super-adaptable, tolerating wet or dry soils with equal aplomb and tolerating the harshest winters with ease while remaining evergreen in warmer climates. The blooms begin in late summer, continuing through fall, and the dormant foliage looks beautiful when coated with winter frost or snow. But despite its year-round attraction, it is possibly at its very best in fall, when the foliage explodes into a glorious combination of reds and oranges.
