DESCRIPTION
Betty Corning Clematis is a charming and reliable vine known for its profusion of nodding, bell-shaped lavender flowers with a light, sweet fragrance. Blooming from mid-summer into early fall, this variety offers an extended season of color and is especially attractive to pollinators like bees and butterflies.
Unique among clematis, Betty Corning is one of the few fragrant varieties and also features strong resistance to common clematis diseases. It grows vigorously, reaching 6 to 10 feet tall, and is ideal for trellises, fences, arbors, or weaving through shrubs. This variety belongs to pruning group 3, meaning it flowers on new growth and should be cut back hard in late winter or early spring for best results.
