DESCRIPTION
Monsieur Jules Elie is a classic, late-spring peony known for its large, fully double blooms in soft, silvery pink. The flowers are richly layered with broad, rounded petals and a shimmering sheen, sometimes with subtle hints of lavender or rose. As the blooms mature, they become paler toward the edges, creating a luminous, old-fashioned look. The flowers are fragrant and long-lasting, making this variety especially prized for cutting gardens.
Plants reach 34 to 36 inches tall with an upright, bushy form and glossy green foliage. The stems are sturdy but may benefit from light staking to support the heavy blooms, especially after rain. Like all herbaceous peonies, it is best planted in full sun with well-drained soil and will return reliably for decades with minimal maintenance.

FALL PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Dig a hole about 12" wide and 12" deep.
2. Create a mound of soil in the center of the hole.
3. Position the root so that the eyes (buds) face upward and are 1–2 inches below the soil surface (no deeper!).
4. Backfill gently, firming soil around the root.
5. Water thoroughly.
