DESCRIPTION

Sarah Bernhardt is one of the most iconic and widely grown peonies in the world, beloved for its classic form, abundant blooms, and reliable performance. This late-season variety produces large, fully double flowers in soft shell pink, often with subtle darker flecks near the center. The petals are densely ruffled, giving each bloom a lush, romantic appearance. Its strong, sweet fragrance makes it a favorite for cutting gardens and floral arrangements.
Plants grow 34 to 36 inches tall with a full, upright habit and healthy, deep green foliage. Stems are reasonably strong but may need support when the plant is in full bloom, especially in wet conditions. First introduced in the early 1900s, Sarah Bernhardt continues to be a staple in both home gardens and commercial production due to its beauty, longevity, and cold hardiness.

FALL PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Dig a hole about 12" wide and 12" deep.
2. Create a mound of soil in the center of the hole.
3. Position the root so that the eyes (buds) face upward and are 1–2 inches below the soil surface (no deeper!).
4. Backfill gently, firming soil around the root.
5. Water thoroughly.
