  • A Spring Walk In Our Flower Patch

    May 15, 2026 1 min read 8 Comments

This is our laundry room :) I have to go outside the house to get to it, but oh so thankful to have one. Pictured here are foxgloves, Lady's Mantle, Columbine, Boxwood & Virginia Creeper in the background climbing the building.

The first roses of the year- Queen of Sweden, Marianne and Charles de Mills. The dark one is Charles and I haven't had this sweet old rose in a garden for 8 years so it was pure delight to see the deep pink color again! It's a once bloomer so you prune after it flowers and not at the end of winter.

    Walkers Low Catmint

    Eglantyne Rose

    Geum "Mai Tai"

The first nigella to bloom. Love this soft blue so much. I don't remember doing it, but I guess I threw seed all over the garden and nigella is blooming everywhere. It's wild here, folks.

Cecile Brunner Rose (my favorite rose!)

    Marianne rose

Perhaps the best part of spring is the scent of sweet peas! Seeds are from our friends who are endeavoring on their own sweet pea breeding journey! @ryaninoregon

    Zinnia's popping!

    Columbine Winky Rose and White

    Angel Cheeks Peony

Would love to see what is blooming in your garden! Feel free to tag me on instagram so I can see :) @thegreenhousepnw

Your garden is magical, I’m in awe. Now I want to sprinkle nigella everywhere.

Your garden is heaven. Cecil Brunner is my favorite too! The Pink Cheeks peony looks almost edible…. but I would never do that!
I am a Northern California transplant to Northern Texas and gardening here is a challenge.
The heat and wind. My other favorite rose is Double Delight but the heat is hard on her. I’m trying shade cloth covers once we get into the 90’s and beyond.

Your garden is beautiful! I had the privilege of picking up 2 new lilacs from you earlier this spring, as I was in the area. I am a long time gardener in the PNW, and so appreciate your hard work and dedication. I’ll be ordering more beauties from you! Thank you for your inspiration! 🌸💞👏

Love the foxgloves which are invaluable to me because they are deer proof. Wish you had some in your inventory.
